Corrective Exercise Assessment and Sessions

Movement is a reality of everyday life, regardless of what you do off the mat. Whether you work at a desk from home or in an office, you’re retired and not as active as you once were, or you’re a professional athlete, corrective exercise is imperative in identifying and addressing imbalances that cause posture, stability, balance, and mobility issues. By addressing your functional movement and the issues impeding it, especially at the feet, knees, and hips, in addition, to properly aligning the body, corrective exercises help to reduce the stress put on the body and help it to handle the load that everyday movement and activity put on it. One of the most important elements of Corrective Exercise is a proper assessment. A certified Corrective Exercise Specialist can effectively assess their clients and develop personalized solutions to improve the way their clients move, feel, and recover.

A Corrective Exercise Specialist is an expert in human movement assessment. We will begin with an initial consultation and assessment. During this assessment, I will analyze your movement patterns, identify overactive and underactive muscle groups and compensations. Once the assessment process is complete, together we will create a program to optimize your mobility, increase strength and flexibility, focus on proper alignment and safety, and reduce tissue tension (and pain) caused by the load put on the body via training, excessive sitting, or recreational activity. Corrective Exercise is a terrific compliment, if not a necessity, to anyone who desires to improve mobility, balance, coordination, and strength.

Studies show proper Corrective Exercise intervention can improve neuromuscular control, which can reduce the risk of future injuries in addition to providing the following benefits:

  • Increased flexibility

  • Increased muscle activation

  • Increased joint stability

  • Improved neuromuscular efficiency (coordination)

  • Reduced risk of injury

  • Improved movement patterns

  • Increased ability to recover

  • Prepares the body for higher intensity exercise

  • Prepares the body for optimal performance

  • Corrects muscle imbalances

Nutrition Health Coaching

Do you feel overwhelmed when you hear the words carbs, protein, macronutrients, supplements, and weight loss? SAME!

Are you triggered by phrases like “meal prepping,” “keto,” “paleo,” and “nut-free, dairy-free, grain-free, gluten-free?” I hear you!

Do you notice something isn’t quite right with your energy levels though? Do you find yourself talking yourself out of movement and activity instead of feeling excited about it? Been there as well 😉

Nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. I take a holistic approach to nutrition! We work with the whole body and mind connection to develop and program specifically designed to meet your individual needs. You won’t find a “nutrition camp” or a “one size fits all” approach to eating. Rather, together, we will discover reasons why we get stuck in our dietary patterns and strategies on how to break them. We will openly discuss several options and ways to consume a healthy diet while taking your unique food preferences, family and work obligations, and religious, and cultural customs into consideration in order to create lasting strategies for navigating real-world situations. Together we will create strategies to navigate the grocery store, parties, restaurants, vacations, entertaining, and more.

  • Individualized nutrition coaching - for any client - any body type

  • Vegan and vegetarian coaching available as well

Initial Consultation $80
During your initial consultation, we will discuss your relationships with your body, mind, and food. We will talk about what these relationships have looked like in the past, what they look like now, and what you’d like them to look like in the future. Together, we will design a plan that fits into your lifestyle. We will create strategies that are not only accessible but also supportive. We will aim to foster body positivity and develop healthy relationships with our inner self and food, thus creating lasting habits that nourish us from the inside out.

Nutrition Coaching Package $210
This includes four follow-up sessions (approximately 30-45 minutes) where we will discuss how things are going. Together, we will make adjustments to your plan, discover the source of some of your setbacks, and how we can propel your successes. In addition, we will build on the foundation we created in our consultation through meal planning ideas, recipes, and strategies for navigating everyday life circumstances, including the grocery store, restaurants, parties, and entertaining.

Wellness Coaching

“Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words. Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions. Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits. Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character. Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.” -- Chinese proverb, author unknown

Do you know you need to make a change but you don’t know where to begin? I’ve been there.

Do you feel like you take two steps forward and then walk backward for the next week? I know the feeling!

Do you need a bit of accountability? We all do.

Sometimes, we just need a little help. We need a little assistance. What is wellness coaching? Glad you asked! It’s a support system designed to empower you to participate in the achievement of your exemplary life-long well-BE-ing. Together, we will discover areas of dis-ease and create a practice designed to bring balance and optimal quality to your emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-BE-ing. We will do this by isolating habits and patterns that are no longer serving or of value and recreating new patterns and habits designed to emphasize positive thought patterns, healthy choices, and healthy boundaries. This is not a one-size-fits-all program. Each program is custom-made for each individual. I recommend a minimum of five sessions to begin. After that, the frequency and number of sessions will depend on the individual’s needs, wants, and goals.

Initial Consultation $80
(approximately 90 minutes)

Five Session Package $250
(each session is approximately 45 minutes and will include follow up work)

Private Yoga Sessions

Is there something in your practice you’re looking to refine? Are you concerned about your alignment in some of your physical postures? Are you looking to deepen the spiritual component of your practice? Are you new to yoga and nervous about the “group” or yoga “class” experience? Are you recovering from an injury, illness, or trauma?

Private yoga sessions might be an excellent option to consider. In your one-on-one session, we will discuss how you’re feeling both physically and emotionally. From there, we will work with breath and movement (or stillness) in an effort to achieve YOGA, the union of body, mind, and spirit.

“I can’t begin to express how much Lynn has changed my life. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer on January 3, 2019. Lynn agreed to take me on as a private client. I did not really love yoga. I don’t do well with silence or being mindful, but I knew that I needed help. Slowly and carefully, we got out of my comfort zone and into a practice that includes restorative yoga. It is hard to write this without crying tears of gratitude. I can do something called a warrior and somehow my body also lengthens. I have learned with Lynn to be patient and to listen to myself. I am resilient. I can do hard things and I live. When I try to describe my yoga teacher, Proverbs 31:25 is the verse: “She is clothed in strength and dignity, without fear of the future. When she speaks her words are wise and she gives instructions with kindness.” I am endlessly grateful.”
