Yin represents the feminine, passive, reflective, and introspective aspects of life. Poses are typically more passive and held for longer periods of time, generally 45 seconds up to 2 minutes. More advanced practices might hold poses for as long as five minutes. These more passive stretches allow you to access and target the deep connective tissue between the muscles as well as the fascia throughout the body.
