SHIFT HAPPENS: RETREAT TO ITALY SEPTEMBER 2024

Escape to the Italian countryside for an Italian Yoga Retreat! Urbino is located in a stunning hilly area at the foothills of the Northern Apennines and the Tuscan Romagnolo Apennines. This picturesque medieval city in the Marche region of Italy is a World Heritage Site, nestled on a high, sloping hillside. Its best-known architectural piece is the Palazzo Ducale, rebuilt by Luciano Laurana.

During this retreat, we will stay seven nights in a comfortable 4-star countryside resort. Practice daily yoga overlooking the Umbrian hills, stroll through the streets of Urbino, learning about the magnificent history and visit the famous artist, Raphael's house and artworks. We will explore the local vineyards for wine tasting, and for those wanting to see nature, we will set off for a Kayaking tour. One full day is allocated for unwinding in the onsite spa/sauna or by the pool. Urbino is well-known for its divine cuisine; each night, we will recharge with a slow-paced Italian style of dining and living.

Single, twin and triple shared rooms are available. *Note If you would like to share a room, it's required that you fill the other spaces. If you're a solo traveller and would like to share, please get in touch. We will try our best to find you a suitable roommate. Alternatively, the single room rate will apply.

This retreat is suitable for all ages and levels of practitioners.

Healing Sound Bath with Fabienne

Please join Fabienne Singer, E-RYT 200, Reiki Master for 90 minutes of gentle movement, guided meditation, and sound therapy. Fabienne will guide you through some gentle movement to prepare you for rest. With the use of bolsters, blankets, and other props, students are encouraged to build a little "nest" for themselves and get cozy. Guided by intuition and intention, Fabienne will use singing bowls, tuning fork, a gong, and various other instruments to  immerse you in a beautiful sound bath. This a wonderful way to wind down the work week.

This workshop is designed to be inclusive, low pressure, judgement-free, and safe for EVERYone and everyBODY. Are you a bigger body? Do you have creaky or tender/sore joints? Are you new to yoga? Are you recovering from a trauma or injury? If so, we're your people and this is the workshop for you! 

Join E-RYT 500 Lynn Slocomb and RYT 200 Heather Rice for 90 minutes of yoga "play" where we will learn about body awareness and acceptance in order to exercise agency and autonomy in our personal yoga practice. We'll discuss how body awareness leads to safe and effective modifications and how to take off the lenses of judgement, comparison, or self negative talk in exchange for one of joyful curiosity and acceptance!

Beginner Tai Chi for Health and Balance with Barb McAdams

Join RYT 200 and Tai Chi Instructor, Barb McAdams in this workshop series designed to be both and introduction and refresher course to the practice of Tai Chi. 

Tai Chi is a gentle exercise focusing on slow, gentle movement. It is low impact and safe for most ages and fitness levels. Tai Chi can improve your bone health, balance, heart health, respiratory/lung functioning, and more. Classes are 90 minutes. Please where comfortable clothing.

Ayurveda is an ancient art and science, sometimes called "the sister-science" of Yoga. It is based on an elemental understanding of the composition of all things, and how these elements relate to one another. For humans, understanding our own composition and our relationship to our environment is key to good health and longevity. 

This is a multi-session workshop. We will meet Nov-April on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 1-4 pm.

Make Your Own Mala, a Make & Take Workshop with Andrea Finn

How do you like to wear your yoga or share your devotion to the practice in the world? On a t-shirt, sweatshirt, or your jewelry? Maybe a tattoo, or sticker on the back of your car? 
Mala beads are not only a beautiful statement piece for you to wear around your neck or wrist, they can help focus your mind and your breath as you move through your practice or sit in meditation. The act of rolling the beads between your fingers is a physical reminder of intention. Whether you focus your awareness on a mantra or your breath, using your mala helps to bring the mind back to the present moment when it wonders. 
In this "make and take" workshop you'll learn how to use your mala. All materials will be provided to complete your mala and you'll have a beautiful wearable reflection of your own journey.
