It’s Spring. According to the Chinese lunar New Year, Spring arrived on February 3. Are you feeling the urge to wake up and grow? Have you seen budding trees and bulbs poking through the ground? In Chinese Medicine, Wood is the element associated with Spring. Think of trees reaching for the sun, growing ever higher to their full potential. Does a tree ever say I’m too afraid to grow?
The seasonal transition between Winter and Spring is a time many people come down with colds or flu. Their bodies don’t have enough Qi, or Life Force, to navigate Spring’s powerful shifting universal energy. On an emotional level, when it comes to embracing Spring’s message to bud and blossom, many of us are stuck in the winter of our past.
Nature is telling us it’s time to move forward, yet old stuff is squeaking at us ~ limiting beliefs, disappointment, sadness about what didn’t happen according to our expectations. The pull of the past is like being rooted in quick sand. The more we struggle to escape, the deeper we sink. With a past too big and heavy, it’s hard to imagine springing into spring.
Good news! With EFT/tapping we can prune dead wood to clear a path for new beginnings. I’ve been using Tapping on my “winter” woes since the mid-1990s when it was introduced by Gary Craig. It’s an easy, effective, self-administered way to shift energy. By tapping on a pattern of acupoints, we can clear negative thoughts and limiting beliefs, as well as tap in ones that feel better and serve us better. It’s freedom at our fingertips.
I’ll show you how on March 11, 1-3 p.m. at The Light Within Yoga Studio. You will learn the tapping points, what to say and how to write your own scripts. Experience it. Learn in. Then go home and try it on everything. And teach it to others.
